Optical and electrical characterization test engineer

Engineering - Leuven | Just now

Imec, the leading research hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, has created high-density neural probes, in collaboration with partners at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Wellcome Trust, Gatsby Charitable Foundation, and Allen Institute for Brain Science. With 35% of diseases being brain-related and a 90% chance of brain disorders beyond the age of 80, understanding the brain is crucial. Imec's neural probes, designed with advanced silicon chip technology, offer thousands of electrodes for precise neuron interaction, promoting profound insights into brain functionality. These probes are now commercially available. Towards next-generation probes, imec scientists are now looking to expand the capabilities of these probes with a photonics layer, to allow for targeted optical stimulation of individual neurons. Imec is seeking additional team members to join our characterization team and help make these next-generation probes a reality.
