Research & development - Leuven | More than two weeks ago

Join us to help integrate hundreds of academic researchers and their research into imec roadmaps.

Strategic Manager Academic Research

What you will do

Imec has a long-standing and strategic relationship with specific research groups at Flemish universities. These groups consist of about 700 talented researchers in 9 research groups across Flemish universities. These researchers have dual affiliations: they are part of their university and part of imec. This strategic collaboration gives imec direct access to new basic research; research that challenges, inspires and helps to implement our roadmaps. It also gives the university groups access to imec’s global deep-tech research and partners.
  • We are working on a stronger integration of these university groups into the imec R&D organization. To operationalize this integration, we are looking for a “Strategic Manager Academic Research”.
  • You will be part of a team that manages the integration of these research groups (called Embedded Groups - “EG’s”), reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Embedded Groups, and working closely with the steerco of the Embedded Groups.
  • You will manage the budget allocated to the EG’s.
  • You will define, optimize and innovate the strategy, processes, methods and tools for the organization/integration of the EG’s within the larger imec research organization.
  • You will train, coordinate and support EG and imec stakeholders in the adoption and execution of the EG strategy, processes, methods and tools.
  • You will coordinate and consolidate imec reporting regarding EG information/business.
  • You will be the SPOC within imec regarding EG operational excellence, both for imec and the universities.
