R&D Lab Assistant

What you will do

Reliability testing is a fundamental aspect in the evolution of semiconductor fabrication processes. At imec, we develop state of the art devices and interconnections that require careful reliability assessment. To support these activities, we are looking for an R&D lab assistant to support the research work of engineers and researchers. 
You work in a small team that shares and provide expertise to various programs at imec and the entire Advanced Reliability Robustness & Testing (AR²T) department, working with not only with researchers and scientists, but also device and process experts and hardware and software engineers.
In this job, your main responsibilities will be:
  • After receiving proper training, you independently perform tests in the AR2T labs: loading and unloading samples in the environmental tools, performing electrical measurements, preparing samples for failure analysis...
  • You assist in the execution of experiments and support experimental work under supervision or guidance of researchers. 
  • You take responsibility over measurement techniques/tools and provides training of researchers/engineers when needed.
  • You answer questions of researchers/engineers regarding test results and experiments.

Who you are

  • You have a professional Bachelor in a preferably technical oriented (electrical or electromechanics) or equal by technical experience.
  • You are eager to do hands-on work in the measurement labs in support of various research programs which you will report to.
  • You are a strong planner and you know how to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • You have a high drive to work in a highly motivated and multicultural environment.
  • You are a team player with good networking and communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Given the international character of Imec, a good knowledge of English is a must.
