What you will do

OnePlanet Research Center aims to develop completely new technology that will incorporate miniaturized sensors in a pill, connect them to a digital platform with advanced chips that can read these data, and transmit it to a data platform that can interpret the recorded parameters.

To produce these ingestible sensor modules, inline production test software is realized and deployed at the production facilities. To scale up production capacity you will redesign the software to adhere to the framework and design patterns, based on PyQT and Python, aligning with stakeholders and work according to the right design principles. You will contribute in this way:

  • Design User Interface to be used by production operators.
  • Incorporate the software framework and learn from and apply the established design patterns.
  • Align with stakeholders on the desired outcome.
  • Contribute to and align with the Agile/Scrum team.

What we do for you

In this internship you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative research and be an important member of the multidisciplinary development team. You will learn from and apply the established design patterns and development process. Imec-NL provides the required equipment, access to lab facilities, a workplace at OnePlanet Research Center at the Wageningen Campus, and a monthly internship allowance during the internship.

Who you are

  • You are a Bachelor or Master student (HBO or WO) in software engineering or a related field.
  • Experienced in programming Python and have affinity with user interface design.
  • You are Pro-active, outreaching mindset and eager to learn.
  • You enjoy working in a team.
  • You are available for 6 months.
  • Eager to take ownership for your student project.
  • Have a structured way of working.
  • Have good command of spoken and written English.
  • You are entitled to do an internship in the Netherlands (have EU nationality and/or currently study at Dutch university).
