Day-to-day implementation of HR policies & processes

What you will do

As an HR officer, interaction with people is at the core of your job. These people can be either 1st line managers, but also your HR BP colleagues, other HR teams and employees in general. Your main task will be to advise and guide 1st line people managers on: 
  • The day-to-day implementation of HR policies & processes (performance management & talent enablement, rewards, onboarding new team members, …). 
  • Questions related to individual team members (long term sickness, development, high potentials, underperformers,...). 
Next to this, you will also support the HR BP's in the implementation of HR processes like talent reviews, exit interviews, reorganizations, ad hoc people changes in imec people,… Besides the 1st line people managers and HR BP’s, your key stakeholders are employees, our HR Employee Center, and the HR Centers of Expertise.
  • You are the first point of contact for HR Employee Center regarding employee questions that require a specific intervention (eg Engineer Olivia wants to have a career conversation with her manager but seeks advice on how to formulate some sensitive messages in the best possible way). 
  • Together with the HR Centers of Expertise you prepare the roll out of HR processes, making sure all needed information is timely available for managers, and occasionally link up to solve questions from people managers.

Who you are

  • You have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • You have an initial experience in 1 or more HR domains (e.g.: recruitment, talent management, learning & development, social law, compensation and reward, diversity & inclusion, wellbeing, disability, etc). 
  • You enjoy working on a broad range of topics. To be able to do so effectively, you are strong in setting priorities and managing your own time. 
  • You have basic coaching skills: even from a short interaction you can pick up the question behind the question, allowing you to offer an adequate response. 
  • You like learning about our internal policies (for eg flex premiums, shift work, ...) and you enjoy even more ironing out the occasional unclarity in these policies. You do so by working with our HR Centers of Expertise and HR BP’s. 
  • You are very customer focused, you can communicate clearly and to the point. You are fluent in English and Dutch, or willing to learn. 
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility, and you show initiative. You are flexible, accurate, resilient, and solution oriented.  
  • You are strong in working with systems and tools, such as Excel and other digital HR tools.
