Solution Architect IT Observability
What you will do
As an Observability Solution Architect, you will be responsible for defining and implementing a strategic vision for end-to-end (E2E) observability across our ICT environment. Today, our observability landscape is fragmented, with a primary focus on infrastructure monitoring using Nagios, complemented by several small-scale tools for network and application monitoring. We seek a visionary architect who can design a comprehensive, integrated observability approach and drive its adoption across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vision & Architecture:
- Develop and implement a holistic E2E observability strategy that spans infrastructure, network, application performance, and user experience
- Align observability capabilities with business and operational needs to improve visibility, reliability, and proactive incident management.
- Standardize observability tools and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Technology & Implementation:
- Assess current observability tools and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Define a roadmap for implementing a modern observability ecosystem based on the requirements from different stakeholders
- Drive the integration of infrastructure, network, and application observability into a unified platform.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper instrumentation and logging across all layers of the technology stack.
- Evaluate and implement automation in observability and alerting to reduce manual intervention and improve response times.
- Governance & Best Practices:
- Define and enforce observability standards, processes, policies, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational requirements.
- Establish clear ownership and responsibilities for observability-related processes within IT teams.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with IT operations, security, DevOps, and business teams to ensure observability aligns with business priorities.
- Advocate for a culture of observability and proactive issue detection.
- Provide guidance and training to teams on observability best practices and tools.
- Budget:
- Take ownership of the budget within the domain, ensuring cost-effective decisions while aligning investments with business priorities and technological advancements.
