Measurement automation software development for analog/RF circuits

Leuven | Just now

Come help us develop a measurement automation software framework for the automatic characterization of advanced mixed-signal and RF electronic circuits

In the Advanced RF team at imec, we are building a software framework to control the large amount of measurement instruments we have available in our lab. In this internship you will help with the development of this framework.

Your day-to-day work will involve working with all the different instruments we have in the lab. You will first learn how the instrument works, then write python code to allow remote control of the instrument. You will develop a testing framework to guarantee that your code works also in the future and help the researchers in the lab to tailor the code to suit the needs to be able to characterize research prototypes.

Requirements:
  • Good Python programming.
  • Good familiarity with git and version control tools.
  • Basic understanding of electronic measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, ...)
You will learn

  • How to operate some of the most advanced measurements currently available.
  • Building complex measurement setups where these instruments work together.
  • Advanced RF measurement techniques and calibration.
  • Maybe some signal processing techniques if that is what you like.
