As the Fab Data Solution Architect, you translate consolidated business requirements to technical end-to-end solutions, with a strong focus on data modelling and technical data products.

FAB Data Solution Architect 

What you will do

  • You design target analytical data models based on requirements and business logic formulated by business analysts. These include models geared toward a broad set of existing and future downstream use cases, as well as bespoke models serving specific use cases. You identify opportunities for consolidation. You do this in close collaboration with the business analysts. 
  • You make the translation from conceptual data models to logical data models and  physical implementation, based on requirements related to query patterns, performance, latency, cost etc. 
  • You effectively communicate the reasons behind your design decisions to business stakeholders, who will take ownership of these models and related data products.
  • You have a thorough understanding of the trade-offs between architecture characteristics (latency, cost, throughput, coupling, consistency, performance …) and communicate these to stakeholders. 
  • You combine your knowledge of the Fab business domain and of the different technical ICT platforms (Fab operational systems , data platform, BI platform, .,.) to make E2E solution architectures for a variety of analytics use cases and integration scenarios. You are the custodian of these solutions, and you ensure their vitality. 
  • You oversee the technical implementation by data engineers and take the lead during cross-functional technical routines. You take a leadership role within a dedicated virtual team including data engineers and BI developers.

Who you are

  • You are an effective, influential communicator and analytical thinker 
  • You have at least 5 years of experience with data modelling for analytics, specifically in the context of business intelligence (e.g. Kimball). 
  • You have at least affinity with code. You can read data transformation code in python (Spark, Polars, Pandas, …). Hands on experience with python, OOP and code-based data engineering is a strong asset. 
  • You have a good understanding of the modern data stack and modern data architectures, in particular data lake(house) architectures. 
  • You have experience with ETL/ELT solutions and paradigms, you understand data pipelines.
  • You have experience with SQL (DQL), so you can communicate transformation logic to data engineers. 

Assets include: 

  • Experience with Power BI in particular. 
  • Experience with Azure. 
  • Knowledge of event driven architecture paradigms and technology. 
  • knowledge of developer practices, Agile, Devops, CI/CD etc. 
  • Experience with project mgmt. 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or semiconductor context. 
  • Experience in a leadership role.
