Student project: Multi-phase LC oscillator for wireless transceivers
Explore the innovative ideas and designs for future RF systems.
What you will do
You will be working on the design and implementation of an LC-based VCO/DCO. You will carry out the works with the following steps:
- Literature study and discussion for single phase and quadrature LC-based oscillators.
- Circuit design and implementation.
- Transformer and inductor design and EM simulations.
- Layout and post-layout verifications.
- In-case of high quality design, the chip can be send for tape-out.
What we do for you
As the world-well-known research organization, we are the center of the excellence in nano-electronics design. In this internship project, you will be working on the cutting-edge research project, under the supervision of the excellent researchers with diverse backgrounds.
Who you are
- A MSc student eligible to do an internship/study in the Netherlands,
- Available for a period of 9-12 months,
- Very enthusiastic in this topic and to realize high-performance designs,
- Open to new ideas and research methods to grow as an independent researcher,
- With knowledges of CMOS circuits and fundamentals of transformer/inductors,
- Understanding the principle of oscillators and RF circuits,
- With good analytical skills (e. g. mathematical skills, logical thinking, etc.),
- With good CAD skills (e. g. MATLAB/Simulink, Verilog, Python, Cadence, etc.),
- With good English skills.
