Student project: Harnessing Multi-Sensor Fusion for Next-Generation AI Models
What you will do
- Review state-of-the-art sensor fusion-based AI models (3 weeks).
- Develop a novel sensor fusion-based AI model, with guidance from imec researchers (8 weeks).
- Program and train the AI model using Python (4 weeks).
- Analyze the performance of the model on test datasets, including the collection of new test datasets (4 weeks).
- Compare the model's performance with existing sensor fusion-based AI algorithms (2 weeks).
- Refine the model for improved accuracy and precision (8 weeks).
- Prepare a demonstration of the proposed model over imec sensors (4 weeks).
- Debug and refine the demonstration setup (3 weeks).
- Prepare the documentation, final presentation, demonstration, and complete thesis writing (3 weeks).

Who you are
- You are a Master's student with a background in Artificial Intelligence or Computer Science and a strong interest in developing novel AI architectures.
- You possess excellent programming skills in Python, particularly with AI libraries such as PyTorch.
- You are available for a 9-month period, including time for thesis writing.
- You have the legal right to undertake an internship/thesis in the Netherlands.
- Hands-on experience with sensors and development demonstrations is preferred (but not required).
- You are a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- You are eager to learn, explore, and develop novel AI algorithms and architectures.
- You possess strong analytical skills.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
