As R&D metrology engineer, you will develop advanced metrology solutions to address scaling roadmap challenges.

R&D metrology Engineer

What you will do

You will be part of the metrology and inspection (M&I) group within the Advanced Patterning department.  
As R&D metrology Engineer, you will: 

  • be part of a JDP (joint development program) with a major equipment supplier, being responsible for one or multiple work packages within this JDP.
  • work on a next-generation metrology technique for 3D profiling.  
  • be responsible for the installation in imec cleanroom and the development of this new technology together with the tool supplier. 
  • identify metrology challenges linked to the scaling roadmap which can uniquely be addressed by this technique and demonstrate its capabilities. 
  • investigate the limits of the technique through fundamental understanding by literature search, simulations, physical modeling etc... 
  • report results internally and externally (module meetings, customer weekly, project reviews, workshops).

Who you are

  • You have a PhD in Applied Sciences, Material Engineering or Electronics, experience in x-ray and/or light matter interaction is a plus. 
  • You are proactive, positive, hands-on with willingness to learn. 
  • You have interest, or experience, in metrology and/or inspection in a high-tech cleanroom. 
  • You are able to work in complex environments with various partners and customers. 
  • You are flexible and able to deal with change or ambiguity. 
  • You work accurately and have attention to details. 
  • You have excellent English communication skills. 
  • You have excellent presentation skills.
