  • You will develop new types of optical sensors for biomedical applications. The final goal is to integrate those sensors in small form-factor realizations in the context of continuous healthcare. For example, wearables that can be worn comfortably by patients or point-of-care testing systems based on microfluidic chips (e.g. Covid testing).

Detailed content:

  • You will be involved in multidisciplinary projects and collaborate with peers experienced in medical, chemical and material sciences.
  • You will design and realize test setups for evaluating the new optical sensors for relevant biomedical parameters
  • You will develop new technologies/components in a cleanroom environment, with the aim to miniaturize the sensors. The main task will be the realization of optical components based on fs-laser technology in glass.
