Junior HR Generalist

What you will do

The HR Employee Center team is the guide for imec employees throughout their employment journey. We are always ready to assist and answer a wide range of questions. This allows you to get acquainted with the entire HR portfolio, providing a unique opportunity to rapidly build your HR knowledge and skills. This role is the perfect stepping stone toward other HR jobs within imec. Your future is yours to shape, but we're here to help you along the way.
In our team, we proactively ensure that everyone knows what they need to know and can do what they need to do. At the same time, we are always ready to help employees with any HR-related questions they might have. There’s no such thing as a typical imec employee. Our clients include expats, PhD researchers, shift workers, consultants, residents, professors, and managers. Our philosophy? By listening to our clients, we create win/win/win situations: better for the imec employee, better for imec, and better for the HR team. We develop total solutions from individual cases; continuous improvement is key.

Who you are

  • You want to work in HR but are not yet inclined toward a specific area like recruitment, payroll, or L&D - you enjoy a bit of everything! 
  • You relate to a “boots on the ground” approach, learning about various HR aspects through hands-on, operational questions. 
  • Administration and digital tools don’t intimidate you; in fact, you recognize that mastering them makes you a better HR professional. 
  • You have solid analytical skills combined with a healthy dose of empathy, allowing you to uncover the “question behind the question.” 
  • Anyone can identify problems; coming up with solutions is much harder. You enjoy taking on that challenge. 
  • Given imec’s international environment, you can communicate fluently in English. Preferably, you can also understand Dutch or any another language.
